Road planing specialists, Jet Plant Hire Ltd has added six new Volvo trucks to its operation. The five FMX rigids and one FE rigid are all additional vehicles and will join this award-winning fleet which includes accreditation to FORS Gold and ROSPA Silver award standards.
Founded in Evesham during 1990, Jet Plant Hire Ltd.'s first truck was a Volvo FL7 and its lifetime association with the marque includes many professional shared values.
Supplied by Pete Swinnerton, Transport Solutions Executive at Truck and Bus Wales and West, Evesham, the FMX 6x4 rigid chassis were specified with Globetrotter cabs, Volvo D13K engines rated at 460hp and Boweld TaperLite HD tipper bodies.
Increased ground clearance levels are thanks to Volvo's X-High rear air suspension and N3G straight front axles. The FMXs will also haul platform trailers to transport road planing equipment, thereby delivering maximum vehicle utilisation levels for the company.
The sole Volvo FE 4x2 rigid was selected with a standard height chassis, all-round steel suspension and a Volvo D8K engine producing 280hp. A waste container body comes with cable lift equipment by MHF (UK) Ltd.
All the new Volvos feature I-Shift automated transmissions and Gold Contract repair and maintenance agreements. A comprehensive list of safety equipment that includes factory-fitted lower passenger door glazing, all-round camera systems and side scan left turn warning systems, are also present on the six trucks.
"Volvo is an excellent product and is a premium brand that has real substance to it," reports Sean Witheford, Managing Director at Jet Plant Hire Ltd. "We have an excellent working partnership with Volvo that stretches right back to our first truck. Over the years, it has become obvious that our business and Volvo share the same quality values with regards to professional operating standards and crucially, compliance. Location is also important and our nearest Volvo dealership is just 200 yards away in Evesham,"Sean adds.
Family-owned and operated, Jet Plant Hire Ltd also uses an established depot in Newton Abbot, Devon to cover a large operating area that includes the Midlands, the South East and South West of England.
